The verdict is in! Here are the winners of the Guess the Grade Competition:
First Place Winner Geologist Nicholas Wauchope from Rio Tinto guessed the closest estimate of Fe grade in the competition.
Second Place went to Stuart Aubrey MLA for Scarborough, who showed off his site-based experience well!
Politician group (n3) had beaten the geologist in getting the lowest average error from actual grades for the teams’ category. Obviously good at plucking numbers from thin air?
Meanwhile, Rio Tinto narrowly beat the Fortescue Metals Group team within the geologists’ circle.
It was an enjoyable experience, and we hope to see more companies attend next time to show off their prowess in this fun competition!
