The Iron Ore Conference 2021 recently brought together industry professionals and decision-makers in the iron ore industry to explore its key theme for the year: “Sustainability in a Changing World”.  The Iron Ore Conference was hosted by AusIMM and CSIRO.

Held on the 8th – 10th November in Perth, Australia, the three-day conference explored the latest developments in iron ore geology, exploration, mining and processing. It also brought forward solutions to address the carbon footprint of iron ore mining.

This year’s conference was hosted in a new hybrid event model, combining an in-person experience with online features. More than 560 delegates from around the world were able to access leading enterprise keynotes, technical insights and experience an unparalleled opportunity to network with global iron ore experts from across the industry.

IMS was excited to be one of the 50 exhibitors in attendance at the event – exhibiting for the first time as IMS (previously Pilbara Standards). Visitors to our booth were asked to take part in our ‘Guess the Fe Grade’ competition. Geologist Nicholas Wauchop from Rio Tinto won first place in the competition, with Scarborough’s State Member Stuart Aubrey in second place. Politician Group (n3) also won the teams’ category while Rio Tinto won out the geologists’ circle!  Another special guest appearance at the IMS booth was Aggie Szabo, Development Manager of Bureau Veritas.

We’d like to thank AusIMM and CSIRO for another great conference, and everyone who attended!
