Independent Mineral Standards (IMS), formerly known as Pilbara Standards, is a leading producer of Certified Reference Materials (CRM) for the global mining industry. IMS is recognised for providing 100% impartial, high-quality and affordable standards.
IMS consists of three divisions each specialising in different materials and markets:
Pilbara Standards (PBS) specialises in coarse CRMs specifically for iron ore, bauxite and other bulk commodities. Our unique processing equipment was engineered in-house and can produce individual samples of up to 4 kilograms and process single batches up to a market-leading 43 tonnes.
Lab Standards (LABS) specialises in custom and ‘stock’ pulp CRMs for both commercial and in-house mine labs — focusing on gold and other precious, as well as base metals. IMS has installed market-leading equipment for the manufacture of up to 4 tonnes batch sizes.
Matrix Standards (MXS) specialises in custom designed reference materials to suit the client’s target material. Whether during resource drilling programs or blastholes for mine planning and grade control, geologists can use matrix matched certified reference materials to provide confidence in any laboratory analytical program.
